Polymer banknotes are banknotes made from a synthetic polymer such as biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP). It was first used in Australia in 1988. At present, the currency of seven countries has been changed from paper money to plastic money:Australia, Bermuda, Brunei, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Romania and Vietnam.
